Kindred Shop + Studio is the creation of jewellery designer Tamara Steinborn and offers a carefully chosen selection of jewellery, clothing, gift, apothecary and greeting cards. The shop provides an opportunity to showcase not only her own work, but emerging and established local, national and international designers as well. Her in-house studio brands have grown since 2000 to include Früg Jewellery and Tamara Steinborn Jewellery and her work can now be found in over 150 shops across Canada.

  • 2000     Früg is founded in WInnipeg, MB and the jewellery line of the same name launches through national trade shows. After                a 1 year stint in Toronto, Früg's studio is moved to Montreal in 2003.

  • 2008     Rüsse launches as a more delicate, pared down sister jewellery line to Früg.

  • 2011     After 8 years of working out of Montreal's Mile End, Tamara moves to Ottawa to pursue retail and open her first                              shop, Wunderkammer, in Ottawa's Byward Market area.

  • 2015     Hand carved in wax and cast in sterling and bronze, Tamara's eponymous line, Tamara Steinborn Jewellery,                                  puts Früg's lead designer in the spotlight with a more personal and idiosyncratic offering.

  • 2016     Kindred Shop & Studio opens in Ottawa's vibrant Wellington West neighbourhood with an in-store studio added. â€‹

  • 2020      Tamara Steinborn was chosen by Instagram Canada to design and produce a custom pin to be given to 1,500                                   attendees of the Governor General's Awards Gala in Ottawa.
